This is a fall quilt that was designed using two blocks. There is a leaf block and a 16 patch block. The blocks are placed on the diagonal that gives this quilt more interest. This quilt was originally designed around a Riley Blake Fabric called Bittersweet Farms but I have recolored it in another Riley Blake fabric called The Old Garden and it looks great colorized in different fall fabric lines. The biggest technique used in this quilt is how I like to use half blocks instead of triangle setting blocks. It gives a little added design to the edge of the quilt that butts up to the inner border.
Class Registration: $69
Supplies Needed for Class:
- Sewing machine
- Basic sewing supplies (straight pins and pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marking pen or pencil, small cutting mat (no larger than 12x18), and a rotary cutter)
Fabric:
- White or off-white – 3 1/2 yds
- Green color #1 (16 patch & leaf block) – 3/4 yd
- Orange color #1 (16 patch, inner border & binding) – 1 3/4 yd
- Dark color #1 (16 patch) – 1/2 yd
- Dark color #2 (corners and stem of leaf block) – 1/4 yd
- Leaf color #1 – 1/4 yd
- Leaf color #2 – 1/4 yd
- Leaf color #3 – 1/4 yd
- Leaf color #4 – 1/4 yd
- Leaf color #5 – 1/4 yd
- Outer border fabric (dark color) – 1 yd
- Backing – 5 yds
