This project is a lap-size quilt with simple pieced blocks surrounding a center appliqued block. The class will focus on learning the applique technique. Jill will show you some piecing instruction and tips, but most of the class will be preparing and stitching the applique block. You will learn applique the Jillily way—turned edges and beautiful results with stitching either by hand or by machine. Class registration includes pattern, and cut applique templates. Fabric Kit available.

(As of August 12th, Kits are no longer available for purchase. Students are required to bring their own fabrics).
Supplies Needed for Class:
- Basic Sewing Supplies (straight pins and pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marking pen or pencil, small cutting mat (no larger than 12x18), and a rotary cutter)
- 1/4” Bias Tape Maker
- 1/2” Bias Tape Maker
- matching threads
- spray starch
- Jillily Applique Tools: Appli-Glue, Quilter’s Digit, Starch Brush, Poke-A-Dots, and Bohin Needles. (Jillily Applique tools are optional, and can be purchased in a set at the class.)
Fabrics required for class by each student if kit not purchased:
- 19” X 25” piece white print—for background
- 9” square of Black print
- ¼ yard Red print for bicycle
- 9”X20” of Green print for vines, some leaves
- Pieces of assorted Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and Gray prints for flowers and leaves—about 10” Squares each
- 50” black mini Ric Rac
- 7 black buttons, ¼”
