Fossil Preparation
Do the work of a paleontologist as you prepare a fish fossil. Take your fossil home with you when it has been completed. Jr. Paleontologists will try their hand at uncovering fossil fish using an air scribe and techniques common to the art of fossil preparation. Recommended for ages 6 and older.
(Museum staff assistance will be provided. Parental assistance is also welcome.)

Available Saturdays and Holidays from 11:00-7:00
$6 Per Person
$3 for members.

Museum admission not included.


Molding & Casting
Make a cast of a dinosaur fossil to take home. Using rubber molds and Plaster of Paris, guests can copy one of three fossils featured in the main exhibit halls. Recommended for ages 3 and older.
(Museum staff assistance will be provided, and parental assistance is welcome.)

Available Saturdays and Holidays from 11:00-7:00
$4 per person
$2 for members

Hatchling Society Classes
The Hatchling Society offers educational fun for kids aged 3-5. Your child will build their curiosity muscles as they explore science, nature, reading, art, and so much more, while practicing important social skills and making new friends. Each session is offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30am-Noon.

Makerspace Modules
Join the Maker movement! Do you enjoy tinkering, inventing, crafting, building, technology, and learning from mistakes? Then you’re a maker! Come spend time making awesome things in one of our new Makerspace Modules. What is the Makerspace? The Makerspace is our on-site facility with specialized equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and a host of other tools for making and creating just about anything. Join us once a week for five weeks to explore your chosen focus. Come make with us today! Sessions for youth ages 10-16 run 4:00pm-6:00pm and are $150/participant.

Museum of Natural Curiosity Birthday Party
Choose between a Nature Explorer Party or a Curiousi-Tea Party. Embark on an adventure through the natural world with a Nature Explorer Party! Engage in unique, up close experiences with insects, animals, and plants. Build and paint your own bird house to enjoy at home. Gather around the table for a Curiosi-tea party with real tea sets, tea time snacks, and dress ups. Paint a pot and plant a flower to take home and watch it grow.

    Turtle Odyssey - Mammoth Screen Movie
    TURTLE ODYSSEY - Sea Turtles are some of Earth’s most ancient and majestic creatures. For over 100 million years, they have traversed the seas, surviving multiple mass extinctions and playing critical roles in maintaining healthy, marine food webs. Not only do these friendly animals captivate us as they peacefully glide through the ocean, but their personal journeys of survival are equally fascinating.


    Volcanoes - Mammoth Screen Movie
    Earth is a planet born of fire. For billions of years, volcanoes have helped forge the world we know. From the continents to the air we breathe and even life itself, all have been shaped by volcanic energy. These processes have created extraordinary ecosystems and wildlife habitats. With over 500 active volcanoes, the Earth is bursting at the seams with these forces of mass construction. The story of volcanoes is the story of the planet’s creation and the story of us. Audiences will be on the edge of their seats as they discover molten worlds and exploding craters in this adrenaline-filled, immersive experience.


    Luminaria General Admission Tickets
    Luminaria is an enchanting mile walk through a shimmering holiday world in Ashton Gardens. At the Grand Allee, 8,000 programmable luminarias carpet a sweeping hill, where each luminaria acts as a pixel in a moving picture of blooming poinsettias, flying reindeer, and beautiful symbols of the season. This display is capped by a 120-foot light tree atop a 40-foot-tall hill. Days and times are limited in nature, so advance purchase is strongly recommended.

    Canopy Tours - Ropes Course
    Test your courage on the high ropes course at the Museum of Natural Curiosity. Suspended over 40-feet in the air, the high ropes course lets you experience the Museum from above while traveling through several fun ropes course challenge areas.

    Museum of Ancient Life Admissions
    Roam among the dinosaurs, explore a Carboniferous Forest, and dive deep into a Cretaceous Ocean at the Museum of Ancient Life.     Museum of Natural Curiosity Admission
    With more than 400 interactive experiences, you can choose a new adventure each time you visit the Museum of Natural Curiosity®.     How Not to Kill Your Succulents
    You always hear 'Succulents are hard to kill' and you laugh to yourself and think 'Except they are really easy to kill'. If this has been your thought process before then this class is designed specifically for you. In this course you will learn the ins and outs of succulent care, how they differ from your average house plant, practice potting a succulent with the proper media, and then take home said succulent to put into practice your new knowledge.

    Superhero Saturday
    Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes and we need YOU for Thanksgiving Point’s popular Superhero Saturday! Get out of the winter cold and into the Show Barn! Come dressed in your favorite superhero costume and participate in superhero training, show off your outfit in a costume parade, and win prizes. The Show Barn will be packed with inflatable obstacle courses, slides, bounce houses, and of course, superheros! There will also be a live DJ supplying music, dancing, giveaways, and so much more. Come spend time making awesome things in one of our new Makerspace Modules. What is the Makerspace? The Makerspace is our on-site facility with specialized equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and a host of other tools for making and creating just about anything. We understand the importance of early childhood development and each family’s individual development goals. Set within the award-winning, 55-acre Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point, the exhibition will feature a juried collection of quilts from artists across the country as well as rare access to view some stunning private collections--all on display for three days only.
