Finished Project Size: 72” wide by 72” long
Step into the enchanting world of “Nocturno,” a 72” square quilt that radiates with glowing, heart-shaped flowers against a deep black night sky. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll master the classic orange peel applique method using sew-in interfacing to achieve crisp, perfectly turned edges and smooth curves on your petals and leaves. We’ll cover every detail hands-on: cutting and preparing the unique orange peel-style flower and leaf shapes, instructions for separating the back flower piece from the front, widening the leaf base for a softer shape, creating two leaves (one reflected, one not), and omitting pistil details for a clean silhouette, applying sew-in interfacing to each piece, turning edges neatly, precise placement, and secure stitching, and assembling your block with vibrant solid fabrics that pop dramatically against the black background. This class is perfect for quilters who love bold contrast, precise curved applique, and creating a piece that feels like a luminous midnight garden. Bilingual templates and instructions included.
