Get ready to stitch up a quilt that’s as fun to make as it is to show off! This modern, playful project comes together quickly while giving you a chance to explore a variety of skill-building techniques—all in one quilt. You’ll try your hand at curved piecing, paper piecing, and simple applique shapes, with plenty of shortcuts and confidence-boosting tips along the way. We’ll wrap things up with approachable machine-quilting ideas so you can finish your Purdy Bird quilt with flair!

Supplies:

- Purdy Bird Pattern by Allison Richter, $12US – Order PDF pattern online at www.campbellsoupdiary.com to download and print at home, OR order a paper copy from the instructor, $18.
- Sewing Machine
- Neutral or matching thread
- Washable glue stick
- Tableside rotary cutting equipment (small mat, ruler, cutter), if desired.
- Bring an empty cereal box or a sheet of mylar template plastic to create applique templates, paper scissors, and a pencil for tracing.
- Pinking shears if you have them.
- Helpful tool: Add-A-Quarter ruler from CM Designs. May order from the instructor, $12
- Basic Sewing Supplies (straight pins and pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marking pen or pencil, small cutting mat (no larger than 12x18), and a rotary cutter)
