Step into the magic of the Christmas with the Nutcracker Tradition story quilt from Jennifer Long’s book Sew A Story: The Nutcracker. In this 3-hour technique-focused workshop, students will create one feature block from the quilt while learning accurate piecing, fussy cutting, and tips for balancing color and contrast. We will also break down how to organize a larger quilt project into manageable steps and review ideas for borders, layouts, and finishing at home.
Class Registration: $75
Supplies:
- Sew A Story: The Nutcracker book (required for full instructions and layout)
- Fabric pieces for the selected book (pulled from the Nutcracker Tradition quilt requirements)
- Sewing machine
- Basic Sewing Supplies (straight pins and pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marking pen or pencil, small cutting mat (no larger than 12x18), and a rotary cutter)
- Optional: small design board or flannel piece for organizing units
