Finished Project Size:
Step into the City of Light with Paris, Je T’Aime, a unique and immersive quilting class that blends two powerful techniques, Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) and turned-edge Appliqué, into one luminous project. In this joyful and technique-rich class, students will learn to construct a stylized Parisian landscape, featuring iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur, Notre-Dame, and the romantic rooftops of Montmartre. The structured elements of the city are built with the crisp precision of FPP, while the softer curves of Parisian gardens and decorative motifs are layered in using appliqué. Students will gain hands-on experience with intricate piecing, directional seams, shape continuity, and advanced fabric placement, while also learning appliqué prep using freezer paper and starch, layering order, and glue-basting techniques for clean, professional results. Whether you're new to either method or eager to refine both, this class offers a meaningful deep dive into each process while creating a quilt block that is both technically rewarding and visually captivating. The result? A stunning textile tribute to the elegance, artistry, and charm of Paris.
