Behind each bloom is a complex root system that helps each bud become what it is meant to be. This year’s Quilt Block Challenge will have you going back to your roots, showing us what makes you, you! The “My Heritage” challenge shows a person’s unique, inherited sense of identity. This theme highlights family, culture, traditions, and more to showcase your individuality and growth, providing gratitude for the people and moments in your life that are important to you. So, if you are an avid quilter looking for a fun challenge or a new quilter in search of a creative project, we invite you to give our 2024 Garden of Quilts Block Challenge a go!
Participation is easy. Register below. Within a few days we will ship out a pack of six Riley Blake Designs fat quarters for you to utilize as a springboard in your design. From there you can embellish with other fabrics, applique, embroidery, beadwork, etcetera, all to create a 20’” x 20” finished quilt block playing off the theme, “My Heritage” Once your block is complete, email us a picture and we will then send you a release form and further information on submitting your quilts to us.

Submit photos by: August 1, 2024
Quilt receiving: August 7-31, 2024
Display September 13-14 at Thanksgiving Point
Quilt Return: September 30, 2024
Rules:
Quilt blocks must:
- Relate to the theme: “My Heritage”
- Measure 20”x20” square
- Consist of a top, middle, and back fabric with hand or machine stitching through all layers.
- Have a maximum thickness of no more than 1”.
- Utilize a recognizable amount of the fabrics provided to you. Additional Fabrics are allowed.
- Feature label on the back of quilt that includes quilter’s name and quilt title.
- Avoid profanity or political statements.

- Composition
- Use of color
- Overall workmanship
- Interpretation of theme
- Originality

- Quilt block kits will be mailed to the Billing Address. For alternate shipping addresses, please call Guest Service for assistance at 801.768.2300.
- All participants are required to pay the $60.00 fee to cover the fabric kit and return postage. Fee covers return shipping but not additional insurance or confirmation/tracking services. If these services are requested, they will incur an extra charge to cover their cost.
- I will attach a label to back of quilt that includes name listed with purchase as well as the title of the quilt.
- Thanksgiving Point does not issue refunds or exchanges. All sales are final.
