A modern twist on the sampler quilt using layer cakes! This pattern uses 2 layer cakes (1 print and 1 background) to make a total of 20 sampler blocks. You will learn to make 8 half square triangles at a time!
Class Registration: $69
Supplies Needed for Class:
- Sewing machine
- Ruler for trimming half square triangles; at least 4 ½” square
- Basic sewing supplies (straight pins and pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marking pen or pencil, small cutting mat (no larger than 12x18), and a rotary cutter)
Fabrics:
Layout Option #1 (80” x 98”)
- 1 print layer cake
- 1 solid layer cake (or 3 yards cut into 40 – 10” squares)
- 1 3/4 yards sashing
- 1/4 yard or FQ for cornerstones
- 1 yard border
Layout Option #2 (79” square)
- 1 print layer cake
- 1 solid layer cake (or 3 yards cut into 40 – 10” squares)
- 2 yards solid for sashing/borders
