Night Garden Hikes
Explore the Ashton Gardens in a different light! Night walks through the garden include a guided tour and themed learning experiences. Join us for unique adventure and a night to remember. Preregistration is required.

Ashton Gardens
Moon Garden: May 23rd, 8:00pm-10:00pm - Enjoy roses in bloom under a full moon! Wander through the rose garden and experiment with nighttime photography. Don't forget your camera and tripod!

Garden Wildlife: June 27th, 8:00pm-10:00pm - Garden wildlife, friend or foe? Learn tactics to attract or repel helpful or hindering critters and learn about these visitor’s nighttime habits.

Naturally Nocturnal: July 25th, 8:00pm-10:00pm - Are you a night owl? Search for the gardens nighttime visitors and meet nocturnal critters up close and personal.

Beginner Crochet
It's "knot" that hard to crochet! Design a project under the helpful instruction of our staff! Socialize and relax as you expand your creative horizons!

Watercolor in the Garden

Experience the artisitc world of watercolor while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ashton Gardens. In this class, we will build upon techniques in basic water coloring for landscapes, plants, and florals. This class is for beginner and intermediate painters.

Fairy/Dino Gardens
Create a magical and enchanting garden for your fairies and dinosaurs this summer. This course will cover which plants to use, how to care for them, and how to design your garden. Each registrant will take home one small fairy/dinosaur garden.

Put the pressure on! Pressed flowers have a variety of uses! Put together your own flower press and get ready to preserve your flowers in a different way.

Paper Making and Book Binding
Create your own unique paper to use for homemade cards, a notebook, or artwork. Learn how to use recycled materials to make something new and beautiful. Each student will make and take home their own handmade notebook.

Secret Garden Book Club
Named after our own Secret Garden, the Secret Garden Book Club at the Ashton Gardens will read three selected books over spring, summer, and fall. We will discuss and share ideas and then take those ideas out into Ashton Gardens and together, put them into practice. Join with us having read the book and ready to share ideas. You will have the opportunity to go into the garden to hand-prune pines in the Japanese manner, observe and learn, and be part of a tree-planting in the fall. Walking and activity will be involved. Class includes the entire season.

Candle Making
Think you can candle it? Learn how to make your own Mason jar candle. These are easy to create and make great for gifts! Each student will create and take home their own scented candle.

The Bee's Knees
Have you heard the buzz about beeswax? In this class we will create two beeswax-based products. Beat Utah's dry air with peppermint beeswax lip balm and practice sustainability by creating reusable beeswax food wrap. It's the bee's knees!
